Month One!

Hello world!

I cannot believe I have already been in Madrid for one month! The time flies by and it blows me away to think about how much I have (and have not!) gotten around to doing.

I like to save the best for last, so here are some of the (many) things I still need to do:

*figure out how to get my Student Visa prolonged to the entire length of my study (This is a highly accurate cartoon depicting my go with Spanish bureaucracy. A classmate sent me this youtube link (he found it in English!) that, upon hearing my woes, he immediately thought of. )
*get my NIE
*switch phone companies

HOWEVER, these are the things I have managed to do (drum roll)

***Find a lovely apartment (piso as they call them) in a neighborhood I love (Barrio de las Letras)

***Get a Phone number/Sim card

***Jump through many bureaucracy hoops and get some appointments to (hopefully) resolve the Student Visa issue

***Touch base with my local Rotary Club

*** Get a monthly public transit card (public transportation here is incredible!)

I will try to do better for you all as a blogger, but in the meantime, here are a few pictures thus far:
